I purchased my Hp Omen in december and have treated it like gold since, but whenever my is is on a flat surface the right fan constatly makes a rattling noise that only gets louder when i game.
I have updated the bios, and try to keep my software constantly up to date, and none of this has fixed anything. I havn't cleaned the fans, one because i dont know how to on this laptop, And two, because i didnt think I would need to 5 months, however i am not an expert and I could be wrong. How to refresh viewpager adapter in android
It is really quite annoying and I would like to get this resolved asap. So if anyone has any advice, please let me know. Go to Solution.
Cleaning should not be necessary so soon unless you are using it in a sawmill. Unfortunately a rattling fan needs replacement. The unit should still be under warranty so I would recommend you call HP for warranty service on it.
Okay, I probably will ring up, however I should probably say just incase it changes your comment that when its rattling, if I either lift it up, or put somthing under the laptop on either side to prob it off of the flat sureface alittle, the rattling stops, when i put it back down on the surface, it starts again. New member.Ever since I got it, any type of activity I do on the laptop makes the left fan facing the laptop go too loud.
Read a lot of the forum posts here and it seems that this is a common problem. Now my question is, is this how the fan is designed? It should be able to adjust on its own depending on the load. Chatted to support and they told me the OMENs they have are quiet during low activity.
So what's wrong with mine then?Legge regionale 5 febbraio 2018, n. 2
Reading a lot of the posts on these forums, it seems that it could be software related or hardware related. Hardware: It could be hardware because it could be Also read something about a bad batch with thermal controllers over here. That seems dated though and not sure if that can still be valid for my laptop. A few other people commented about repositioning the sink and that helped them I really don't want to return the laptop as it looks amazing and has all the specs I want.
So is my fan broken? Hi Rani-K. Thank you for posting on HP Forums. I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP.
They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information serial numbers and case details.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forum. It should go down gradually back to normal. I don't know much but I have used HP laptops in the past with fan issues from simple tasks.
There may be an issue with how HP programmed the fans to respond to Windows tasks. But then again, I have to agree it could be either a software or hardware issue. This may be a really weird and irrelevant question but do you perhaps have HP CoolSense installed?
Either turn it off or try uninstalling it if you do. HP CoolSense often seems to amplify the fan issue. Also, have you tried changing the system cooling policy under your current power plan from active to passive?
You could try uninstalling problematic applications.A few weeks ago I bought this new HP Omen laptop and yesterday the fan started to rattle constantly. It seems like this is a hardware problem. Do I need to use my warranty already or is there a safe way to solve this? From here, there's really no way to tell whether this is simply some gunk that the fan keeps hitting, or the fan itself has become unstable and needs to be replaced.
If those don't yield anything useful, you paid for free HP Tech Support as part of the warranty coverage, so you might as well make use of it.
While this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly to have them put you in touch with HP Technical Support to see what they can do about troubleshooting and repairing your machine remotely. If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 I had this problem too I saw a video of someone opening the laptop case and found that the blades of fan was touching something which makes rattling sound Yesterday, I installed NiceHash Miner 2 Software Software for bitcoin mining I am not going to explain what bitcoin mining means exactly, but in few words it's selling your GPU power and get money for it.

Product: Omen 15 axnd. Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 bit. Tags 2. Tags: Microsoft Windows 10 bit. Level I've had my Omen for about 8 months now, not encountered any issues whatsoever until yesterday. If you can imagine the sound of a police helicopter above, it's similar to that. Weird comparison but it's kinda difficult to describe. I've checked around this forum before posting and seen similar issues, but I've been unable to pinpoint what it is exactly. The most likely i have seen are dust build up in the fans, and a 'coil whine'?
I've followed the HP support steps for cleaning out the vents, using both compressed air and a hairdryer on cool, but there was no difference. I'm thinking about taking it to my local PC repair to see if they can fix or identify the problem but i don't want to pay for something before seeing if anyone on here may be able to assist with the issue!
It's also still under warranty. I don't use it for heavy gaming, the only game i really play is Football Manager I also use it to do work for university work. Go to Solution. Hi BS96.

Message 1 of 4. HP Recommended. Product: HP Omen The speakers on the unit make a quiet scratchy, gritty, crackly noise in the background when any audio is played out of them.
Sometimes it gets quite loud and there is no way to stop it. I have updated the audio drivers and nothing has changed. This has been happening since I got the laptop about a year ago.
Right-click the sound icon at the bottom right corner of your desktop and select Playback devices. Highlight your default audio device, which should have a green tick on its icon, then click Properties. Go to the Advanced tab. Select from the drop-down box 16 bit, Hz CD Quality. Then click Apply and OK to save the change.
If CD Quality option fails to help you solve the popping sound issue, try to choose another audio format and see what happens. Some sound drivers use enhancements to improve sound quality on your PC. To disable it:. Check the box for Disable all enhancements. Note that this option is not a universal one, since not all software drivers include such a function. You may also see a similar tab named Sound Blaster and similar effects. Or you may not see the option the disable enhancements at all.
Right-click and select Disable. The downward arrow displays on this driver, indicating it is disabled. Right-click and select Update Driver Software.
Select Browse my computer for driver software. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. You should see a window that says Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware.
NOTE: If you see a window that says something like This is the best driver for this device, exit the window and repeat steps 4, 5, and 6. At the Update Driver Warning window, click Yes. You should see a confirmation window with High Definition Audio Device displayed. Click Close. At the prompt to reboot, click Yes. If the BITS service is turned off, windows update may have problems delivering files to your computer.
In the service status section of the properties dialog box, verify that the BITS service is started. Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant. Windows Update is a utility that keeps your PC safe and your hardware drivers freshly updated.
If the issue still persists uninstall the audio driver from device manager and install the drivers using HP recovery manager. If the issue still persists try running a system diagnostics test from your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.Lego foto x sito 0

Also, it has not stopped another speaker issue where the right speaker grill makes a very gritty fuzzy noise whether sounds is playing out of them or through headphones.
This only happens occasionally but is rather loud and obviously very annoying.I was playing and there was no noise then after i stopped playing then the exhaust started to rattle and make so much sound, it only makes sound when its on performance mode which is always on automatically when playing games.

Go to Solution. Welcome to HP Support Forums. Glad to help you. It's quiet so you have to turn it up a bit to hear it. I have no problems with shutdown issues however the laptop acts like it needs to go full throttle on any game no matter how graphic intense it is.
I read your post and reviewed it as well. Thanks for the quick response. Please check these links out. Awesome and smart diagnosis. Kudos to you for that.
